William James “Jim” Jacobs, 80, of Guttenberg, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg. A Masonic service will be at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 26, at the United Methodist Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Michael Jackson. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. at the church. 

Interment will be at Guttenberg City Cemetery.

Jim  was born on July 6, 1934, in Guttenberg, the son of Walter and Charlotte (Aulwes) Jacobs.

Jim received his education from the Guttenberg School where he graduated with the class of 1952.  Following school, Jim served his country proudly in the United States Army.  On July 17, 1959, Jim married Carol Schenke at the Zion Methodist Church near Colesburg.  This union blessed them with five children. Jim enjoyed his time in service, gardening and was an avid Northern Pike fisherman. He was a 50 plus year member of the Masonic Lodge, the Commandery and he was also a proud Shriner. 

Jim is survived by his wife, Carol Jacobs; five children, Jeff Jacobs of Alexandria, Va., Dan Jacobs of Melbourne, Fla., Doug Jacobs of Tucson, Ariz., Sue Jacobs of Guttenberg and Sally (Seth) Gilkes of Robins; two grandsons, Noah and Thomas Gilkes; sister, Mary Ford of Guttenberg; brother Walter (Sue) Jacobs of Laguna Beach, Calif., and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
