On Thursday, June 18, the Relay for Life will be hosting its first Dancing with the Stars event. For the event, a Hawkette from the Prairie du Chien High School dance team and a member of the community will be partnering up to bring the community a night that it won’t be able to forget. Ticket prices are $15 for ages 13 and up, $10 for ages 4 to 12 and children 3 and under are free.
The event, to be held at the Barn Restaurant, will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a pasta dinner and salad bar. The dancing will kick off at 6:30 p.m. The competitors will be: Jeff Nack (3M) and Lindsey Ohlert; Bill Sexton (Crossing Rivers Health) and Stephanie Elmquist; Steven Bush (Crossing Rivers Health) and Mariah Slaght; Jimmy Jones (Edward Jones Investments) and Katie Zahara; Aaron Amundson (Prairie du Chien schools) and Katie Licht; Mark Forsythe (Peoples State Bank) and Caitlin Nolan; Chad Abram (Prairie du Chien Police Departmment) and Morgan Kiesau; Tony Wedgeworth (Lori Knapp Inc.) and Ella Hein; Rick Morovitz (Cabela’s) and Autumn Kohler; and Cousin Cletus and Breann Holler.
Judging the competition will be Lynn Rider, Cindy Hertrampf, Ken Stoeffler and, of course, the audience. With their ticket, audience members will be able to vote for their favorite dancing team. Attendees will also be able to purchase additional votes at the event in order to help their favorite performers win. If you RSVP for the event at greatriverrelayforlife@gmail.com, you will receive an additional vote.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Great River Relay for Life to be held in August. Questions about the event should be directed to either Shelly Rider at (608) 412-0829 or Jackie Rymarz at (608) 326-7303.
