Laurie A. Bowar, 61, of Prairie du Chien and formerly of Freeport passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 8, at her home. 

She was born Nov. 16, 1953 in Freeport the daughter of Wallace and Anne (Brody) Floe. Laurie worked as a waitress for many years and later in retail sales. She worked as an office manager and administrative assistant in the wholesale distribution business. She married Jeffrey Bowar on June 11, 1993. Laurie’s greatest joy was spending time with family especially her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband Jeff of Prairie du Chien; her children, Jason (Bonnie) and Justin (Shanelle) Bardell both of Freeport; her step-sons, Jason Bowar of Phoenix, Ariz., Brian Bowar of LaCrosse, and Michael Bowar of Prairie du Chien; her father Wally Floe of Freeport; her siblings, Diane (Mike) Mowery of Columbus, Ohio, Holly (Josh) Compton of Surprise, Ariz., Jill (Tom) Williams of Elizabeth, Ill. and Terri (Mike) Clark of Polo, Ill.; her grandchildren, Kalah, Cameron, Zoie, Zayden and Lilly. She was preceded in death by her mother.

A memorial visitation will be Saturday, June 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien. A private family interment will be later in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Breast Cancer Foundation or Paula’s Purse at the Gundersen Lutheran Healthcare System.
