Marquette, McGregor, Luana to have contested city council races in Nov. 3 election
The Sept. 17 filing deadline for city government offices has come and gone and the candidates are set for the upcoming Nov. 3 election.
In Marquette, Pamela Brodie-Fitzgerald, Tracy Melver and Eleanor Soulli are running for two seats on the council. Incumbents Jason Winter and Galen McShane did not file. No candidates filed for the office of mayor, which is being vacated by Norma Mason.
Incumbents Rogeta Halvorson and Joe Muehlbauer will battle Jason Echard for two seats on the McGregor council. Incumbent mayor Harold Brooks is running unopposed.
In Luana, incumbents Lonnie Baade and Marvin Mohs will take on Todd Olson and Jackie Radloff Schneider for three seats on the council. Current council member Norman Mueller did not file. Incumbent mayor Jerry Schroeder is running unopposed.
Monona has no contested races, as mayor Barb Collins is running again, unopposed, while current council members Andy Meyer, Dan Havlicek and Randee Blietz face no other competitors for three seats.
In Farmersburg, mayor Glenn Radloff is running unopposed. Incumbents Beau Bennett and Travis Torkelson were the only two candidates to file for three open seats on the council. Herb Morley did not file.
