Donald M. Straka, 63, of Wauzeka, passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, at his daughters home in Readstown. 

He was born on June 3, 1952 in Boscobel, the son of Emil and Dora (Pettera) Straka. He married Pam Burroughs on June 8, 1996 at Pikes Peak in McGregor Iowa. 

Don loved the outdoors. He especially loved hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Pam Straka of Dubuque, Iowa; a son Shawn (Sarah) Straka of Bridgeport; his daughters, Wendy (Emerald) Faulkner Jr. of Readstown, Rachael Straka of Dubuque, April Schuller of New York City, N.Y., Miranda Handfelt of Dubuque; six grandchildren; four nieces and nephews; a brother Earl Straka of Galena, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, along with a sister-in-law Edna Straka.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Father Garrett Kau officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Military honors will be accorded by the Blake-Semrad American Legion Post 134 and the Gilbertson-Pitzer-Radley Post 10393 both of Boscobel. Friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 10, following the memorial service 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Online condolence can be sent to www.kendallfuneralservice
