Duane Don Weyant, 85, of Edgewood, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.

Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 8, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 9, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Edgewood, conducted by Pastor Mike Jackson.

Interment was at Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood.

Duane was born on Feb. 8, 1930, in Clayton County, Lodomillo Township, the son of Harlan Wesley and Mabel Elizabeth (Bente) Weyant. Duane received his education at the Edgewood School and worked for Witwer family farms near Alburnett.

On March 18, 1950, Duane was united in marriage to Irene Linderwell at Independence. Four children were born to this union. Together they farmed north of Edgewood until 1978 when they moved into Edgewood. Duane was also a sexton and caretaker of Greenhill Cemetery near Edgewood.

Duane enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, visiting the casino, and eating a good meal.

Survivors include his four children, Gary Weyant of Manchester, Sandra (Ross) Kirby of Centennial, Colo., Ronald (Janie) Weyant of Manchester, and Lori Heims (Al Manson) of Edgewood; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene Weyant on Sept. 19, 2008; a granddaughter, Michelle Weyant; a sister, Lucille Mattson, and a brother, Kenneth Weyant.
