Fans of Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, the Everly Brothers, the Beatles and other music legends won't want to miss the "Buddy and Beyond" dance party on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Lakeside Ballroom in Guttenberg. The show and dance begin at 2 p.m. and will feature a walk down memory lane with music from the '50s and '60s.

Entertainer Johnny Rogers will headline the afternoon show with his portrayal of iconic entertainers from the golden era of rock and roll. Music from rock and roll legends along with music from "outlaw" legends Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.

Rogers has built a career on his love of music from the early days of rock and roll. Some of his most memorable career highlights include performing in England, Amsterdam, and at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake where Buddy Holly gave his last performance. Rogers has frequently performed with Tommy Allsup, Buddy Holly's friend and lead guitar player.

Rogers was born in Chicago, and when he was very young his father gave him his first guitar. He had no interest in playing, until he heard Buddy Holly for the first time. He said it was like someone or something turned a switch on inside of him. From that moment on he knew what he wanted to be in life and that was someone like Buddy.

Johnny's father was friends with a Chicago honky tonk legend, Jimmy Nichols. Johnny started playing lead guitar for Jimmy Nichols at the age of 15. He was self-taught and learned all styles of music. Johnny made his debut on stage at the Off Broadway Lounge. Immediately he was a big draw. Johnny continued playing guitar for the Chicago legend until he was 21 and then started his own band and his own show.

Johnny will transport his audience on a nostalgic journey back in time to the '50s and '60s featuring music from the major stars of that era— Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and more.  The show will climax with Johnny's recreation of the late great Buddy Holly.
