Register for Dec. 5 Wake Up Santa

Santa has been so busy planning for the upcoming holiday season that he has been caught napping on the job! Rivers and Bluffs Animal Shelter invites all children to Wake up Santa on Saturday, Dec. 5 in the community room of Prairie du Chien City Hall. Santa will be awakened promptly at 8:30 a.m. Kids are welcome to bring noisemakers to get the job done. Doors will open at 8 a.m. Children will wait quietly behind the closed doors of the community room until the countdown at 8:30. A pancake and sausage breakfast will follow and will be served until 10 a.m.

Admission includes an all-you-can-eat breakfast, a personalized visit with Santa, Santa games including Santa bingo, pin the nose on Rudolph and Santa says. Children can also “make and take” an ornament for their Christmas tree in Santa’s Workshop. New this year, Tristan the magician will entertain the children as they wait their turn to visit with Santa. Children 3 and under are free.

Children are delighted as Santa finds their name in his special book and seems to know if they have been “naughty or nice.”

Santa’s Secret Gift Shop will be open during the event for children to purchase reasonably-priced gifts for family members, caregivers and pets. Santa’s elves will help with gift selection and wrapping. No adults are allowed in the gift shop.

Brian Cipra Photography will be on-hand to capture this special moment in the child’s life. A 5x7 photograph will be available for purchase and ready for pickup on Dec. 19 and 20 at Tractor Supply.
Raffle tickets for a beautiful Diamond Jubiliee Bargello quilt will also be available.

Wake Up Santa is sponsored by Walmart, Blackhawk Motors, Zinkle’s Piggly Wiggly, Brian Cipra Photography, Tina Osterhaus Century 21/Welter Realty, Paper Moon Books and Beyond and Subway in Prairie du Chien, Fennimore, Lancaster and Boscobel. Registration forms can be picked up at Tender Care Animal Hospital, Piggly Wiggly and Paper Moon, as well as the following area elementary schools: St. Gabriel’s, Bluff View, B. A. Kennedy, River Ridge, Seneca, Wauzeka and Mar-Mac. Registration forms are also available online at riversandbluffsanimalshelter.org. Advance registration is strongly recommended as space is limited. Mail in registrations and payment must be received no later than Tuesday, Dec. 1 and should be mailed to RABAS, P.O. Box 421, Prairie du Chien.
