River Ridge
hosts tournament
The River Ridge boys basketball team hosted the River Ridge Tournament in Patch Grove (varsity) and Bloomington (junior varsity) Dec. 30.
Albany defeated River Ridge 59-31 in the first game in Patch Grove Dec. 30.
Albany led 33-16 at the half en route to the win.
Caleb Irish netted 8 points for the Timberwolves. Preston Clark scored 7. Brett Moravits had 6. Ben Ertz and Gavin Steiber each tallied 4 and Ryan Redman scored 2.
River Ridge Illinois defeated River Ridge Wisconsin 74-51 in an afternoon game.
The Wildcats led the Timberwolves 33-26 at halftime.
Ben Ertz and Preston Clark each scored 10 points to pace the Timberwolves. Gavin Steiber netted 9. Brett Moravits had 7. Ryan Redman had 6. Ty Bloom scored 4. Isaac White totalled 3 and Caleb Irish had 2.
In other games at the tournament, Iowa Grant defeated River Ridge of Illinois 60-41. Iowa Grant also beat Albany 69-48 in the championship game.
