Blanche Mae (Borrett) Oldham Kruse, 109, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Guttenberg.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Shane Anderson.

Interment will be at Brown Cemetery, Colesburg.

Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Blanche was born on Aug. 24, 1906, in Osterdock, the daughter of Delbert and Hannah (Bowman) Borrett.

Blanche received her education from the Osterdock School and later from the Guttenberg School System. Shortly after high school in 1924, she was united in marriage to Ralph Oldham. They were later blessed with three children, Una, Phyllis and Delbert. Ralph passed away in 1950, and in 1953, Blanche was married to Leonard Kruse at the Little Brown Church. Throughout her life, Blanche worked as a store clerk, she farmed along with her husband, was a mother’s helper, spent many years working for Muter's and she even cooked at the Guttenberg Country Club. 

Blanche was a devoted member of The Kitchen Band and ALCW at St. John’s Church. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble and Yahtzee, cooking (especially breads and pies) and thoroughly enjoyed her trips to the care center to visit with other senior citizens. 

Blanche will always have a special place in the hearts of her two daughters, Una Bishop and Phyllis Staebler; grandchildren, David Oldham, Ralph (Kimberly) Oldham, Nancy (Brian) Hinkle, Erlene Killeen, Steven (Jane) Staebler, Linda (Jeff) Evers, Patty (Brent) Reynolds, Von Randall (Steve Slade), Sue (Tim) Oberbroeckling; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dolores Oldham and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Delbert; husbands, Ralph Oldham and Leonard Kruse; two sons-in-law, Robert Bishop and Lavern Staebler; siblings, Howard (Icie) Borrett, Harry (Blanche) Borrett, Ivanelle (Warren) Moser and Meredith (Earl) Moser.
