Gerald P. “Jerry” Mezera
Gerald P. “Jerry” Mezera, 73, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 31, at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
He was born April 1, 1942 in Prairie du Chien, the son of Clarence and Ruth (Fritsche) Mezera. He is survived by his children, Kim (Todd Dewey) Mezera of Dallas, Texas, Kathy (Alan) Flansburgh of Prairie du Chien, Kevin Mezera of Bagley, and Austin Mezera of Bridgeport; his loving companion Anita Schneider of Bridgeport; his sister Lynda Standorf of Dubuque, Iowa, fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Ronald Standorf.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Reverend Joe Irvin officiating, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services.
