 Clement L. Stram, 83, of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, April 3, at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. 

He was born Nov. 4, 1932 in Prairie du Chien the son of Leo and Birdie (Koecke) Stram. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Clem married Jacqueline Kasparek on Sept. 27, 1955 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. He worked at National Decorated Metals and the FS Plant in Prairie du Chien. He later retired after many years with the Crawford County Highway Department. Clem was a renowned fisherman, hunter and trapper. He was a devoted family man and an active member of St. Gabriel’s Parish. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jackie Stram of Prairie du Chien; his children, Michael (Melissa) of Prairie du Chien, Jane (Brian) Stutt of Racine, Gary (Michelle), Sandy (Sam) Halverson, Tom (Barb) and Kathleen all of Prairie du Chien; his twin brother Clifford (Barb) and brother Gerald both of Prairie du Chien; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Geraldine Huser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard. Friends may call on Thursday, April 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eagles Heart and Cancer Telethon or St. Gabriel’s Church. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
