Steven D. Cox, 61, of Prairie du Chien passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 5. 

He was born Aug. 16, 1954 in Baraboo, the son of Orville and Darlene (Burris) Cox. He married Linda Tangney on May 4, 1979 in North Freedom. Steve was retired from the Canadian Pacific Railroad and was currently employed at Kwik Trip in Prairie du Chien. 

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda of Prairie du Chien; a son Justin (Michele) of Monroe; a daughter Shannon (James) Fisher of Gays Mills; his mother Darlene of Baraboo; his brothers, Alan and Dean; a sister Linda (Arvin) Faivre all of North Freedom; along with seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Durlin.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
