Carol Glesne-Koppes
Carol A. Glesne-Koppes, 68, of East Dubuque, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. All friends and relatives are invited to a gathering to share their memories of this special lady at C.J. Lanes, Elkader, on Saturday, April 23rd from 4-7 P.M. P lease, no cards or memorials; just your presence will be greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Life in honor of Carol will be held in East Dubuque, Illinois at a later date.
Carol was born on April 2, 1947, the daughter of Lloyd and Kate (Bissell) Bente. She attended Area I Vocational School where she earned her degree as a Certified Dental Assistant. She was employed with Great River Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery P.C. for 37 years until her retirement.
Carol married Denny Koppes on August 31, 1996, in Dubuque. They spent many loving years together and the memories they have will not be forgotten.
Carol was an avid boater and enjoyed fishing with her husband and her buddy, Benny. She enjoyed her yearly trips to Mexico for the last 19 years.
She is survived by her husband; Denny; son, Alan (Judy) Glesne; step-daughters, Lisa (Rob) Klauer and Amy (Brian) Becker; her mother, Kate Bente; grandson, Vance Glesne; step-grandchildren, Robbie and Lauren Klauer, Ava, Cole, and Leah Becker; siblings, Sandra Berger, Janis (Dwight) Rodas, Linda (Gregg) Frieden, Donna DeShaw (fiance’ Ron Moore), Jeff (Lisa) Bente; many nieces and nephews; her best friend, Linda Bennett; and her beloved cat, Cleo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd; brothers-in-law Jim Berger and Ed DeShaw; and her best friend Benny (Jack) Bennett.
