He attended High School at Colesburg/Edgewood and went on to join the U.S. Army, where he served his country for four years, during the Vietnam era, partially in Germany. It was then he met his wife to be, Kathy Faber.

He was honored to volunteer for Veterans organizations. Pat was also a member of and President of AFGE Food Inspectors Local 488 for many years, serving the Midwest.

He was employed by the USDA as a federal food inspector where he worked for thirty-seven years. Being a food inspector he was very concerned with Food Safety. Pat enjoyed cooking, and he was very passionate for the outdoors. He loved to hunt deer, bear, pheasant, goose, and duck. A second love was fishing. On his farm in Clearwater, he enjoyed tractors and doing field work. He and Kathy had horses, but his favorite was raising his Highland Cattle which are low on fat and low on cholesterol.

Pat is survived by his lifetime partner, Kathy of Colfax; his daughter, Jessica Walters of Eau Claire; one sister, Myrna Niehaus; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Sharon Walters; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
