Prairie du Chien man charged with intent to deliver methamphetamine
A 34-year-old Prairie du Chien man was charged May 16 in Crawford County Circuit Court with one count of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
Eric Allen Schultz faces up to 25 years in prison and a $100,000 fine if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint, following a traffic stop on April 25 near the intersection of Highway 18 and Vineyard Road in the town of Bridgeport, a search was conducted of the vehicle Schultz was driving.
Among the items seized were several individual bags, each containing a quantity of crystalline substance, the complaint said. A small digital scale was also seized. A chemical field test on a portion of the suspected methamphetamine tested positive.
According to the complaint, Schultz told the Crawford County Sheriff’s deputy he was “running” the methamphetamine. He said the meth was “fronted” to him by an individual at no cost, and he would then deliver the meth to individuals in the Boscobel area, the complaint stated.
It was later determined there were nine separate baggies containing a total of approximately 14.2 grams of meth, the complaint said.
