Amy Lou Hoeger, 66, of Farmersburg, IA, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016. She was born on April 23, 1950, in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Myrna Eberhardt. 

Amy attended the Garnavillo School and graduated with the class of 1969. She went above and beyond during her those high school years, as she took classes through Capri College during the summers through high school. She later received her degree from Capri College in Dubuque in 1970. On July 24, 1971, Amy was united in marriage with James Hoeger at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garnavillo and together they were blessed with four children. For many years, Amy made a home for her family and also worked as a certified nursing assistant.  

Amy taught Sunday school at Zion Lutheran Church in Clayton Center while in high school and later taught CCD classes at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garnavillo. Amy enjoyed cross stitching, embroidery and was famous for baking the most amazing pies. 

Amy will be forever loved and cherished by her husband of 44 years, James; children, Ken (Carly) Hoeger of Elkader, Lesa (Leonard Aadland) Hoeger of Wesley, IA, Ann (Jeff) Cutler of Johnston, IA and Carl Hoeger of Garnavillo; two grandchildren, Kendra and Kari Hoeger; siblings, Jean (Chuck) Heaney of Kneeland, CA, Jane (special friend Keven) Keeley of Soldiers Grove, WI, Jerry Eberhardt of Garnavillo and Sara (Scott) Jensen of Charles City, IA and many other relatives and friends. 

Amy was preceded in death by her parents. 

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo, IA where the family received friends from 3-7 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 and one hour before service at church.  Funeral service was at St. Joseph Catholic Church Garnavillo, IA, at 10 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2016. The Rev. Marvin Bries officiated. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Garnavillo, IA
