JoAnn Blodgett, 81, of Stoughton, formerly of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, at her home.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1934, to Lawrence and Josephine (Esser) Willkomm, in Cassville. JoAnn married the love of her life, Richard Blodgett on Aug. 20, 1955, and enjoyed 58 wonderful years until his passing on Dec. 3, 2013. She graduated from Cassville High School and moved to Rockford, Ill., where she met and married Richard. JoAnn worked for many years at General Casualty Insurance Company, where she made lifelong friends, retiring in 1991. She and Richard spent many happy summers along the Mississippi River in Bagley and winters in Green Valley, Ariz. JoAnn enjoyed cooking, cards, golf, reading and spending time with her family.

She will be missed by her children, Becky Peura (Dennis Lynch), Ron (Louise) Blodgett and Cindy Gilbertson (Marty Miller), all of Stoughton; six very special and loved grandchildren, Josh (Eve) Peura, Ross Gilbertson (Samantha Guenther), Matt (Sarah) Blodgett, Grant Gilbertson, Katie Blodgett (Kevin Maas) and Nate Blodgett; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Louis Peura; and a very beloved and spoiled dog, Dixie. She is further survived by a sister; two brothers; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.

According to JoAnn’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to our sister, Becky, for her constant devotion and care of Mom. We will be forever grateful. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or a charity of donor’s choice. Mom, you are now with Dad and we hope playing a game of cribbage. Rest in peace. You will live forever in our hearts. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
