Mother, son arrested in drug bust
A mother and son were both arrested last week in connection with illegal narcotics activity at their residence within a Prairie du Chien motel, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
In early June, Crawford County investigators were notified of the potential drug activity. Further investigation led them to believe that Patrick Tesar, 18, and his mother, Renee Hubanks, 50, were dealing marijuana, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and possibly prescription medication out of the motel room in which they resided at the Prairie Motel. Next, investigators applied for and were granted a search warrant for the residence, Sheriff Dale McCullick said.
On July 20, at about 4:30 p.m., officers of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department and the Prairie du Chien Police Department executed the search warrant. Inside the residence, they found marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, oxycodone, scales and additional drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s department.
Tesar and Hubanks were both arrested in connection with the investigation, McCullick said. Tesar faces charges of delivery of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and possession of psilocybin mushrooms with intent to deliver. Hubanks faces charges of possession of marijuana (second offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
