Margie Nell Larson, 89, of Elkader, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader. Margie Nell Esther (Schuety) Larson was born September 30, 1927, in Boardman Township, to Emil and Hilda (Lahrs) Schuety. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader. Margie went to country school.

On July 8, 1948, she was united in marriage to Henry Larson Jr. at the Peace church parsonage in Elkader. Four children were born to this union.

Survivors include her children, Jerald (Emma) Larson, Gary (Lynn) Larson,  Darrell (Kris) Larson and Cathy Sullivan; four grandchildren, Joey (Tiffany) Larson and Daniel (Robin) Larson, Ryan Larson, Anne (Jay) Schreier; four step-grandchildren, Blake (Heather) Gamm, Scott Gamm, Erich (Christal) Gamm and Jessica (Matt) Schmidt; seven great-grandchildren, Brittni Seitz, Tavyn Larson, Hayley, Aurora and Mianda Larson, Cullen and Lucy Schreir; three step-great-grandchildren, Brynn, Ben and Trent Gamm and two brothers, Elmer and Ronald Schuety

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Ivanelle Glawe; brother, William Schuety; sisters-in-law, Ardis, Jeanette and Sandra Schuety and brother-in-law, Lloyd Glawe.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader. Honorary bearers were: Joey and Tiffany Larson, Daniel and Robin Larson, Ryan Larson, Anne and Jay Schreier, Blake and Heather Gamm, Scott Gamm, Erich and Christal Gamm, and Jessica and Matt Schmidt. Inurnment was at East Side Cemetery, Elkader, Iowa. Friends called from10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.
