Muriel Ann Roquet, 79, of Elkader, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at the Elkader Care Center. 

Visitation was Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Elkader.

Funeral services followed the visitation.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Muriel was born on Feb. 9, 1937, in Westgate, the daughter of William and Edna Buhr.

Muriel received her education locally and later achieved her Associates of Arts degree from Wartburg College. Muriel was a long time member of the Elkader Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Muriel is survived by her children, Tammy (Scott) Fischer, Ramona (Ron) Quesenberry, David Roquet, Pamela (Anthony) Bill, Dorinda (Dan) Potter, Brett (Tina) Roquet, Corinne Roquet, Twilia (Micah) Argenio, Kristie (Jehdiah) Argenio, Jared Roquet; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; siblings, Elda Judisch, Mardella Buhr, Iva Gauntiz, Lee Buhr and many other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband David; grandson, Andrew Roquet; and brothers, Floyd and Delbert Buhr.

In lieu of flowers and all types of sympathy, Muriel has requested memorials that will contribute to the greater good for the congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. Memorials may be mailed to 11152 130th St., Fayette, IA 52142.
