A barking good time at the Pet Expo
Dozens of dogs of all breeds and sizes had the run of the store at Nelson True Value in Prairie du Chien Saturday, Feb. 11, as the fifth annual Pet Expo took place. Fun-filled and informative activities brought awareness to and financially benefitted the Rivers and Bluffs Animal Shelter. A demonstration by dogs enrolled in a local obedience class, and their owners, was a highlight of the morning, along with a visit from Crawford County K-9 Breck and Officer Joe Breeser, and the best pet trick contest. Pictured is one of the winners of the contest, shaking and performing other tricks for the audience. There was also dog olympics, a parade of rescued dogs and an appearance by a team of racing huskies. Tender Care Animal Hospital sponsored nail trims as well. Furthermore, True Value provided door prizes and sales on many of its pet products. A rousing good time was had by a store full of people. (Photo by Correne Martin)
