John Arthur Johnson passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife, children and many of his family members.

Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 19, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg. Funeral services followed at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Marshall Hahn.

A reception was held at PromiseLand Winery, Guttenberg.

John was born on Nov. 13, 1949, at the Elkader Hospital, the son of Gilman and Helen Johnson. He grew up in the St. Olaf area and graduated from the Elkader High School. John worked for John Deere Dubuque Works, was also an electrician and later moved to Kenosha, Wis., where he worked as a supervisor for AMC & Chrysler. On May 24, 1969, John was united in marriage with Jane Ludovissy and the two were blessed with two children, Trina and Jamie. John loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Trina (Jeff) Layne; son, Jamie Johnson; four grandchildren, Austin, Logan, Brandon Layne and Elisa Johnson, all from Kenosha, Wis.; sister, Janet (Tom) Shea of Mt. Pocono, Penn.; brothers, Jarry (Margie) Johnson of Solon, James (Cindy) Johnson of Guttenberg; mother-in-law, Louise Ludovissy of Guttenberg and many wonderful nieces and nephews. 

John was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Duke Ludovissy; both sets of grandparents; brother-in-law, Jack Harbaugh; nephews, Jackie Harbaugh and Nick Wachendorf. 

John loved his wife, children and grandchildren dearly, as they did him as well. John touched many lives and will be missed by all that knew him.
