Ann G. Messerli, 91, of rural Prairie du Chien, passed away Tuesday, May 16, at the Crossing Rivers Hospital surrounded by her family. 

 

She was born March 1, 1926, in Boscobel, the daughter of Matthew and Ann (Bindle) Pulvermacher. She married Carl Messerli on Nov. 20, 1944, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Boscobel. They farmed most of their lives in Vineyard Coulee. Ann worked at the Beaumont Nursing Home, the HiWay Grill, McGregor Electronics, Rayovac and 3M Company. 

 

She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Ann worked hard all her life and passed her work ethic on to her family. Carl preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 2006. 

 

She is survived by her children Sharon (Harold Goad) Stagman, Darlene (Jack) Kellogg, Dennis (Cindy) Messerli, Bonnie (Fred) Sautter, Donna (Gene) Bedward, Judy (Randy) Halverson; her grandchildren Tim (Jenni) and Carl Stagman, John (Micheala), Robert (Shelley), Shane (Melissa)and Troy Kellogg, Jo (Doreen) Messerli, Malinda (Jim) Alt, Sally (Tony) Hanus, Laurie Ragatz, Rick (Betty) Sautter, Lisa (Jim) Ludwig, Todd (Jenni) Bedward, Crystal (Matt) Steele, Wendy (Emerald) Faulkner, Shawn (Sarah) Straka, Chris (Felecia) Halverson and Caitlin (Wyatt) Wall; 34 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law Clarence Stagman; 13 siblings; and two grandsons, Charles Kellogg and Jason Bedward. 

 

Funeral services will be Friday, May 19, at 11 a.m., at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
