Julia A. Setterlun, 91, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Thursday, May 25, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. 

 

She was born Sept, 1, 1925. in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of John and Lulubelle (Petis) Slyfield. Early in life, Julia worked as a nurse for the Boscobel Hospital. 

 

She is survived by her daughter Valerie Ritter, of Lansing, W. Va., a stepson Russ (Carol) Setterlun, of Thiensville; nephew Skip Slyfield, of Park City, Utah; and niece Shannon Slyfield, of Spring, Texas. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Jack Slyfield and a grandson Scott Ritter.

 

According to Julia’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A private family inurnment will be later. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
