Ardyth “Ardie” Ellen (Stee) Weller, 84, of McGregor, died Monday, Aug. 14, in Pittsburgh, Penn. 

 

Ardie was born on Nov. 27, 1932, in Castalia, to Clifford and Mayme (Jones) Stee. She graduated from Postville High School in Postville, with the class of 1951.

 

Ardie was united in marriage to Harold Earl Weller on Dec. 27, 1958, in Castalia. Two children were born to this union. Ardie was a homemaker and co-owner of the Luana Tavern, in Luana, for twenty years. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, gardening, cooking, baking, feeding and watching the squirrels and birds and collecting antiques. She also was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and she enjoyed country music. Most of all she loved her family deeply and cherished the time she spent with them over the years. She will be dearly missed.

 

Survivors include her two children, Candy Weller, Pittsburgh, Penn., and Craig (Darcy) Weller, Monona; one grandson, Travis Weller, Guttenberg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Ardie was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents Clifford and Mayme Stee, and two sisters Karen (Lou) Birtwell and Gretta Stee.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 21, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Tuesday.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, McGregor, with Rev. Kristian Kinkaid as the officiant. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or any organization that supports Alzheimer’s research. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor, is helping the family with arrangements.
