A 27-year-old McGregor, Iowa man has been charged in Crawford County Circuit Court with one count of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and one count of possession of marijuana.

Thomas D. Wiemerslage faces up to a $26,000 fine and 13 years in prison if convicted of both counts.

According to the criminal complaint, as part of a narcotics investigation, Wiemerslage  was seen standing in the driveway of a Prairie du Chien residence on Aug. 24.

Wiemerslage was holding a black safe and, as officers approached, he attempted to throw the safe into the garage near where he was standing. The officers looked inside the safe and found numerous (estimated at more than 100) small clear plastic baggies, some of which had a red bulldog design on one side and others which had a Grim Reaper design.

Also found in the safe were two digital scales with white crystalline residue on them, a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana, a clear plastic baggie containing a quantity of a white crystalline substance that tested positive for meth, and five unidentified white pill capsules.

A search of Wiemerslage turned up a wallet belonging to Sarah Olson and a check written to Wiemerslage from Sarah Olson for $100.

According to the complaint, later that evening, after the arrest of Wiemerslage, Prairie du Chien police arrested Sarah Olson. While booking and processing Olson into the Crawford County Jail, two clear plastic baggies containing a white crystalline substance were found in her bra. One baggie had a red bulldog design and the other a Grim Reaper design. Olson told officers that she had purchased this meth from Wiemerslage, the complaint said.

Olson told officers that she and another woman met with Wiemerslage in Iowa earlier that evening, where Wiemerslage entered this safe, removed a baggie of meth, weighed a portion of the meth, packaged the meth in the other plastic baggies, and sold that to her and the other woman.
