Richard Joseph Weber Jr., 55, died Thursday, Sept. 7, in rural Allamakee County following a farming accident. Richard was born April 12, 1962 in Waukon, Iowa to Richard Sr. and Shelby (Alderman) Weber. He was a 1981 graduate of Key High School in Lansing, Iowa. Following high school, Richard attended Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar and completed the welding program. 

 

Richard was united in marriage with Cynthia Redman at Freeman Lutheran Church in Ferryville. Two children were born to this union. They later divorced. Richard worked for the railroad in his younger years then worked at Northern Engraving in Lansing, Iowa, and Spring Grove, Minn., as a die setter, and also farmed in the Mays Prairie area in Allamakee County.

 

Richard is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (James) McCullick, of Prairie du Chien; a son, Nick (Danielle) Weber, of Lansing, Iowa; his mother, Shelby Weber, of Waukon, Iowa; girlfriend, Kathy Welsh and her children Tiffany and Cody of Lansing, Iowa; two brothers, Randy (Karen) Weber, of New Albin, Iowa; and Chris (Danette), of Dubuque, Iowa; two sisters, Sally (Pat) O’Neill, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; and Melanie (Ross) Krambeer, of Lansing, Iowa; three grandchildren, Lillian, Kaeden, Klayten; and many aunts, uncles and cousins and his dog, Ruppert Willis Weber. 

 

Richard was preceded in death by his father Richard Sr. and his maternal and paternal grandparents. 

 

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 22, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Lansing, Iowa. A private graveside service will be held at Mays Prairie Cemetery, rural Lansing, Iowa. Thornburg-Grau Funeral and Cremation Service of Lansing, Iowa, is helping the family with arrangements.
