Edward C. Zach
Edward C. Zach, 84, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Crossing Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Bloomington, the son of Lawrence and Frances (Kirschbaum) Zach. He was a 1950 graduate of Bloomington High School. He married Kay Zimpel on Feb. 27, 1957. Together they farmed near Glen Haven. Ed enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay, of Prairie du Chien; a son Ronald (Darcy) of Dodgeville; his daughters, Debra (Joel) Warren, of Cedarburg, Sharon (Bill) Kluesner, of Bloomington, and Sandy (Todd) Nichols, of Prairie du Chien; brother-in-law Art Jelinek, of Janesville; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lorretta Jelinek.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, Oct. 9, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church of the Holy Family Parish with interment in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be donated to some of Ed’s favorite charities.
