Guttenberg merchants are getting into the Halloween spirit once again with Ghouls and Goblins Night Out. The seventh annual event, scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, gives adults the opportunity to celebrate Halloween and support Guttenberg businesses.

Shops will be open late and shoppers (as well as shop owners) are encouraged to dress in costume. Businesses often feature spooky sales on clothing, gifts, and specialty items, deadly discounts at participating restaurants, devilish door prizes, and cauldrons of complimentary refreshments while shopping. In some cases, participants who arrive in costume qualify for even better deals.

Esser's Clothing will sell pink tees for $3 and will offer discounts of 50-75 percent off of women's clothing. Purchases other than the $3 tees will come with a free pink tote bag.

Brown’s Sales & Leasing is letting the ghoul times roll by offering $140 off a set of tires from a large selection of brands, including lifetime rotations!

Sodes Green Acre Cafe & Country Market will be open until 8 p.m. with spooky sales throughout the store.

Guttenberg Gallery & Creativity Center is open from 5-7 p.m. with flash sales from 5:30-6:30 p.m., when all ceramics made by the mad potter and all glass made by the wicked witches is half price. "Taste the Black Magic brewing in our kitchen - it's not for the faint of heart!" say organizers.

Divine Current will be offering spooky paraffin hand waxes for $10 (regular price $15) and 25 percent off all essential oil products. Visitors can also enter to win a giveaway basket.

Blooming Branches is participating in Ghouls Night Out with spooktacular savings throughout the store, including color prizes and sales on terrifying treats and drinks. "Come in to register for a gift," say owners. Customers may enjoy complimentary coffee and cookies to help celebrate a birthday on staff.

Stop by Community Savings Bank during the event to get your special treat, and ask about a bonus for using the ATM.

Starving Artists will give away creepy door prizes such as black cat paintings, magnets, a Halloween cross stitch. Customers in costume will receive 10 percent off any purchase. Enjoy complimentary 'boos' while browsing fall and Halloween artwork and decor.

Kaffee 1858 and Public House is cooking up caramel apple sangria, food specials and free snacks, and customers in costume will get a free coffee travel mug!

Ideal Decorating is full of boo-tiful items for the home, and there will be a 20 percent discount store-wide during Ghouls and Goblins Night Out.

Roots will be open during the event with haunting vintage items, clothing, unique gifts and handmade jewelry.

Shoppers can make a stop at The Dam Bar for the cheeseburger basket special and Halloween Happy Hour prices from 5-7 p.m.
