Urban S. Pasker, 87, of New Vienna, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at Oak Crest Care Center in Dyersville.

Visitation was Friday, Nov. 17, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna, conducted by Rev. John J. O’Connor. Lector was Sr. Rita Goedken. Placing of the pall was done by Joan Pasker, Rose Olson, Dan Pasker, Dave Pasker, Ron Pasker, Rick Pasker, Diane Elgin, Randy Pasker, Joyce Naber, Janet Olson, Jeanne Hefel and Pam Demmer. Giftbearers were Cheyenne Hess, Courtney Olson and Haley Demmer. Casketbearers were Jon Olson, Chris Pasker, Cory Pasker, Tristen Pasker, Austin Pasker and Kyle Naber.

Burial was held in St. Boniface Cemetery in New Vienna.

Urban was born Dec. 29, 1929, in New Vienna, son of Albert and Alvina (Wiskus) Pasker. He received his education from St. Boniface Catholic School in New Vienna. He was united in marriage to Joan Goedken on Nov. 9, 1954, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg.

He was also a member of St. Boniface Parish.

He farmed all his life in the New Vienna area until his retirement. He also drove bus for the Western Dubuque School District. Urban enjoyed golf and telling stories. He also enjoyed hunting in his later years. He loved to listen to polka music and watch western shows. He was also a Case Tractor and Dodge man.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Pasker; 11 children, Rose (Oly) Olson of Colesburg, Dan (Kay) Pasker of New Vienna, Dave (Mary) Pasker of Earlville, Ron (Linda) Pasker, Rick Pasker both of New Vienna, Diane (Mark) Elgin, Randy Pasker, Joyce (Larry) Naber all of Dyersville, Janet (Jeff) Olson of Guttenberg, Jeanne (J.J.) Hefel of Holy Cross, Pam (Randy) Demmer of Dyersville; 33 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Verma Westmark-Thieman of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, James (Marie) Pasker of Colesburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace Pasker of New Vienna, Doris Goedken of Petersburg, Dale Goedken, Lois (Donald) Burkle, Delaine (Paul) Knipper all of Dyersville, Lisa Goedken of Conception Junction, Mo., Delores (Terry) O’Brien of Cascade, Sr. Rita Goedken of Morton, Miss., Dennis (Ann) Goedken of Cottage Grove, Wis. and Charles (Peach) Goedken of Harrisburg, Penn. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter in infancy, Jean Ann Pasker; one son-in-law, Randy Hess; Rick’s fiance, Jill Wilson; one brother, Leon Pasker; father and mother-in-law, Alfred and Loretta Goedken; one sister-in-law, Sr. Angela Goedken; three brothers-in-law, David Goedken, Floyd Goedken and Marty Goedken.
