Leola "Lee" M. Brady, 87, of 3390 Lake Ridge Drive, Dubuque, formerly of Garnavillo, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at Manor Care Health Services, Dubuque.

Private immediate family services will be held at a later date per her request.

Leola was born in New Hampton on Nov. 28, 1929, daughter of Joseph and Helen Cimmiyotti. Leola worked most of her life in the medical field. She retired as a med tech working in a nursing home in Cedar Rapids. Out of many lifetime achievements her grandchildren loved that she was sworn in as the first female deputy sheriff in the State of Iowa, Clayton County, on April 21, 1974.

Surviving are her children, Gary (Nancy) Caspersen, Lenore, Idaho, Charlene Schrodt, Dubuque, Ron (Linda) Caspersen, Garnavillo, Rick (Linda) Caspersen, Dubuque; grandchildren, Tony (Glynna) Pate, Brad Pate, Erin Caspersen, Jeremy Schrodt, Stacey (Mike) Killian, Ryan (Angela) Schrodt, Jeremy Dohse, Shelly Mack, Chris Caspersen, Kelsey Caspersen; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Hampton, Ethan, Katelyn, Rachel, Natalee, Prynne, Jordan, Alexander, Keylee, Kylee, Braedyn, Tyler, Coral, Charlize, Josephine, Bodhi, Elysia; and great-great-grandson, Madix; and siblings Jackie (Paul) Ritter, Ron (Janet) Cimmiyotti, Lois (Ken) Reuter, Marlys Bade and Gordon Cimmiyotti.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Brady; her parents; brother, Stanley Cimmiyotti; sister-in-law, Sharon Cimmiyotti; brother-in-law, Glen Bade; and great-grandson, Matthew Crary.
