Schedule change for Guttenberg Press
By Shelia Tomkins
Press readers who are accustomed to picking up their weekly issue on Tuesday morning or early afternoon will now have to wait until late Tuesday afternoon to catch up on the news.
Effective with last week's issue, The Press began being printed at Graphics, Inc. in Calmar. Since 1999 The Press has been printed at Mississippi Valley Printers, Inc., in Prairie du Chien, Wis., but the closing of that plant has necessitated the move.
The weekly issue will be paginated in Guttenberg and emailed to Calmar on Mondays. It will be printed on Tuesdays and delivered to the Guttenberg post office and Guttenberg Press office late Tuesday afternoons. Copies to local vendors such as gas stations and grocery stores will be delivered by Press staff late Tuesday.
The Press news and ad deadline will remain the same at 5 p.m. on Fridays, except for special holiday deadlines as announced in advance.
Observant readers may notice a new look to the front page lay-out, designed to accommodate room for subscriber addresses.
