Annabelle M. Stubbe, 93, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, at Crossing Rivers Health Care. 

 

She was born July 9, 1924, in La Crosse, the daughter of Edward and Mae (Weighner) Bock. She married George Stubbe on Jan. 5, 1952. Together they owned and operated George’s Standard Station in Prairie du Chien for over 30 years. George preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1994. Annabelle was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Church and enjoyed bingo and going to “the boat.” She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. 

 

She is survived by her children, Edward Stubbe, Genevieve Stubbe and Matthew (Rhonda) Stubbe, all of Prairie du Chien, and Georgene (Brian) Graw, of Onalaska; her sister Joan Novey, of Prairie du Chien; her grandchildren, Carissa (Josh) Harville, Vanessa (Paul) Jenrich, Brianna and Braedon Graw; along with great grandchildren, Brock and Braxton. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother Edward Bock; and her sisters, Pauline Henry and Marian Bernabei.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m., at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien where there will be a wake scripture at 7 p.m.
