Marcella M. Nussbaum
Marcella M. Nussbaum, 93, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Prairie Maison Care Center.
She was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Herman and Bessie (Konichek) Shulka. She attended school on Limery Ridge then after the family moved to Famechon Ridge she finished 6th grade. She married Lawrence Paul Nussbaum on June 15, 1949, at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. Marcie worked at the National Deck until it closed and later for Red’s Café and Ziel’s Old Faithful Inn. She and Paul enjoyed traveling after their retirement. Paul preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2006.
She is survived by a daughter Linda (Harvey) Zabel, of Prairie du Chien; four grandchildren Sandy (Stuart) Seffrood, Nancy (Chris) French, Gail (Chad) Winkers and Harley (Jami) Zabel; nine great grandchildren; a sister Rose Stram; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m., at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. James Weighner officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
