Prairie Wrestlers Statebound
Prairie du Chien state qualifiers Colten Wall, Matt Rogge, Blake Garcia, Traeton Saint, Nick Rogge and Stephen Ronnfeldt will be representing PDC wrestling at the Kohl Center starting Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
Blake Garcia works hard in controlling his Monroe opponent. Garcia would win by major decision, 9-0.
Nick Rogge dominates his Wisconsin Dells opponent with a double arm bar in his quarterfinal match. Nick would win by major decision, 11-0. In the finals, Nick would beat Max Barreau of Lodi 6-1 for a sectional championship.

Blackhawks qualify six for State Wrestling Tournament
The Prairie du Chien Blackhawk wrestling team once again continued to make history. This time, by advancing six individuals to the State Tournament to be held in the Kohl Center in Madison from Feb. 22-24.
Richland Center was the host of a WIAA Division 2 Sectional on Saturday, Feb. 17. Traeton Saint and Stephen Ronnfeldt will be making return trips to state, with a few teammates joining them. The top three finishers in each weight division earned trips to the state meet.
106 - Matt Rogge (41-11), 2nd place.
126 - Bradyn Saint (38-15), 4th place.
138 - Traeton Saint (48-4), 2nd place.
145 - Blake Garcia (33-12), 3rd place.
160 - Nick Rogge (45-5), 1st place - PdC’s first Sectional Champion since Taylor Elliott in 2014.
195 - Stephen Ronnfeldt (39-9), 2nd place.
220 - Colten Wall (42-9), 3rd place.
A big congratulations goes to Prairie du Chien wrestling on a new program record for most state qualifiers in one season with six, breaking the previous record of four set back in 2004 (Zach Elliott, Eric Adamany, Seth Yager, Mike Lenzendorf). Also, the 48 wins by Traeton Saint and 45 wins by Nick Rogge break the single-season wins record of 44 set by Mike Lenzendorf in 2005. The program now has four wrestlers with 40+ wins on the season, again, most in program history!
The Hawks also finished with 101.5 points, the most by any team at this year’s Richland Center Sectional! The first time the program has ever finished with the most points by a team at the individual sectional meet!
First round pairings for Prairie wrestlers for the State Tournament are as follows. With the exception of Nick Rogge, all others will wrestle on Thursday evening with wrestling starting at 7 p.m. Friday’s session starts at 11:15 a.m.
106 - Matt Rogge (Fr., 41-11) vs. Carsten McHugh, Freedom (Fr., 30-11).
138 - Traeton Saint (So., 48-4) vs. Tim Coyne, Hayward/Northwood (Sr., 34-10).
145 - Blake Garcia (Sr., 33-12) vs. Matthew Maitland, Wrightstown (So., 34-10).
160 - Nick Rogge (Sr., 45-5) will face winner between Reece Worachek, Luxemburg-Casco (So., 36-13) and Gavin Lisowe, Chilton/Hilbert (So., 32-3).
195 - Stephen Ronnfeldt (Sr., 39-9) vs. Jake Rau, Medford (So., 36-12).
220 - Colten Wall (So., 42-9) vs. Nate Lloyd, Luxemburg-Casco (Sr., 41-6).
