Yvonne L. Hubbard, 75, of Prairie du Chien passed away, surrounded by her children, Saturday, Feb. 17, at Columbia St. Mary’s in Mequon, after a six-month battle with cancer.

Yvonne was born July 22, 1942, in Eastman, the daughter of Walter and Martha (Mara) DuCharme. She married William Hubbard Sr. on Nov. 12, 1963, in Preston, Minn.

Yvonne knew what life was about: no one left her house with an empty belly (most of those meals included her famous mashed potatoes), without getting a hug, and without hearing her say ‘I love you.’ Yvonne touched the heart and soul of everyone that met her. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling and laughter will never be forgotten. With a real zest for life, Yvonne never worried about the little things and always had a smile on her face. Her number one love was her family. Yvonne enjoyed spending time in her garden, painting, reading, traveling, playing games, finding a good rummage sale, doing craft projects, coloring and playing with her grandchildren. Her love for nature, creativity and passion for learning new things are traits that she has passed on to the generations after her.

She is survived by her four children, Dawn Hubbard, of Milwaukee, William Hubbard Jr., of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, Shad (Kim) Hubbard, of Milwaukee, and Starr (Nik) Damro, of Milwaukee; along with her seven grandchildren  Steven, Amber (Drew), Anya, Claire, Emma, Harper and Lola; and one great grandchild Knox. She is also survived by her four brothers Dewey (Billie Lou) DuCharme, of Bagley, Jon (Joan) DuCharme, of Fort Pierce, Fla., Steve DuCharme, of Eastman, and Mike DuCharme, of Eastman; and four sisters Beverly (Dale) Check, of Eastman, Bunny (Rodney) Bartholomew, of Juneau, Marcia Feilbach, of Prairie du Chien, and Jenny Russell, of Prairie du Chien.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 20, 2015; by her parents; an infant daughter Holly; and by her brother Stosh (Cheryl), of Wauzeka.

A memorial service will be held in Prairie du Chien, Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m., at Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Rajan Anandan officiating, with inurnment in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
