Living to eighty-nine years old, and all his adventures, including ski jumping, driving milk truck at age fourteen, breaking his left arm at age five and cutting his finger on a bottle trying to get a cork to go fishing. His proudest accomplishment in life is he and his wife Mary raised five wonderful children all of who graduated from college and earned master degrees and doctorates, something he loved to boast.

He married the love of his life, Mary Hammond, and enjoyed a vibrant partnership of over fifty years until her passing in 2007.
