Wanda Lear
Wanda Lear, 88, of Prairie du Chien, died Sunday, April 1, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, with her family by her side.
Wanda was born Sept. 23, 1929, to Roe and Cuma (Nielsen) Garrett in South English, Iowa. She graduated as Valedictorian in her senior class.
Wanda was united in marriage with Jack Lear in 1957. One son Murray was born to this union. Wanda worked as the church secretary for twenty two years and continued to volunteer at the Gunderson Health Clinic and the church after retirement. She enjoyed doing puzzles, watching sports, meeting her friends for coffee/lunch and going on trips. Wanda was known to be kind and caring.
Wanda is survived by her son, Murray (Roberta) Lear, of Praire du Chien; grandchildren Rylie, Reaghan and Garrett Lear, all of Prairie du Chien; and her siblings, Dick (Ann) Garrett and Shirley (Bill) Morgan.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lear in 1992; her parents, Roe and Cuma Garrett; a sister, LaVonne Hamilton; and a brother, Bill Garrett.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, April 8, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Prairie du Chien. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Monday. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 9, at United Methodist Church, Prairie du Chien, with Rev. Barb Cook as the officiant. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Prairie du Chien. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Prairie du Chien, is helping the family with arrangements.
