Completion projected for May 4

The new clubhouse at Prairie du Chien Country Club is continuing to proceed well and is projected for completion by May 4, said Karen Moravits, the food and beverage manager.
“We’re anxiously waiting to see it all put together and to get started,” said Moravits, who noted that the clubhouse will now be 7,003 square feet with the addition of a loft which was a feature that was added relatively late in the process. Originally, plans for the new clubhouse were for just under 6,000 square feet.
Moravits said that the new clubhouse has a nice, more open feel than the former building, which makes it seem somewhat larger than it really is.
Leagues at Prairie du Chien Country Club will begin on April 25, and Moravits said they will be working out of the former cart shed, which now has a rustic bar. There is also a pavilion outside next to the shed.
“In two years, we’ve come a long way,” said Moravits about all of the recent construction projects at the country club. She noted that there are seven weddings booked for this summer, along with two anniversary celebrations and a few graduation parties.
“We’re hoping to pick up business luncheons, small parties and bridal showers,” said Moravits.
She also said it is hoped that the dining room will be open by June 1.
Top Notch Construction of Prairie du Chien, located near Patch Grove, is the general contractor for the project, and there are several subcontractors.
Area subcontractors/suppliers include Myers Mechanical Solutions, Palmer Electric, Edwards Plumbing and Heating, Carpets to Go, H&N Plumbing, Heating and Electrical and Momchilovich Drywall and Paint.
Delta 3 Engineering of Platteville was the architect for the project.
