Wauzeka-Steuben wins 

pitchers' duel over Seneca

Both teams were strong on the mound on Tuesday but Wauzeka-Steuben was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Seneca in Ridge and Valley baseball action. 

A single by Noah Allan in the first inning was a positive for Seneca.

Carter Lomas was the winning pitcher for Wauzeka-Steuben. He lasted six innings, allowed four hits and no runs while striking out 10. Isaac Byrne threw one inning in relief.

Allan took the loss for Seneca. He surrendered one run on three hits over two innings, and struck out four.

Payne started the game for Seneca. He allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings while striking out seven.

Allan, Kolton Chambers, Matt Hall and Preston Mabb each managed one hit to lead Seneca. Chambers led Seneca with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.

Jacob Reichmann went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wauzeka-Steuben in hits. Wauzeka-Steuben stole six bases during the game. Reichmann led the way with two. Wauzeka-Steuben committed one error in the field. Riley Hooker had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Wauzeka-Steuben scored 1 run in the bottom of the sixth to earn the victory. The Hornets had 5 hits. 

Seneca had 4 hits and committed 2 errors.
