Betty Jean Mabel Kenneally

Betty Jean Mabel Kenneally, 92, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point. She was born on June 17, 1925, in Strawberry Point, the daughter of Benjamin Carl and Henrietta Mae (Gibbs) Brockmeyer. Betty was raised and educated in the Strawberry Point area and was a 1942 graduate of Strawberry Point High School.
On July 12, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Vincent Bayazet Kenneally at St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point. Betty enjoyed vacationing with her husband.  She also enjoyed collecting antiques, painting, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 70 years, Vincent Bayazet Kenneally of Strawberry Point; three sisters, Evelyn Totman of Edgewood, Beverly Rankin of Strawberry Point, and Janice O’Loughlin of Independence; a brother, Ronald Brockmeyer of Ruthven; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Karen Lee Brockmeyer; a niece, Lynn (Brockmeyer) Zern; three brothers-in-law, Dan O’Loughlin, Joe Totman, and Harold Rankin; and a sister-in-law, Margo Brockmeyer.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point with Rev. John Haugen officiating. There was a visitation from 3 to 7 p.m., on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point, Iowa, where there was a 3 p.m. Scripture Service.  Friends also called one hour prior to Mass at the church on Saturday. Interment: was at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Strawberry Point, Iowa
