Constance “Connie” A. (Caya) Anderson, 70, of Ferryville, passed away on April 24, at the Gunderson Health System in La Crosse.

 

She was born Jan. 10, 1948, to Lyle and Marjorie (Monroe) Caya in Prairie du Chien. She attended and graduated from Seneca High School in 1966. She married Truman Anderson on May 25, 1968. She was raised in Lynxville, and lived her entire married life in her beloved wooded valley just south of Ferryville, along the Mississippi River. Connie loved her private valley, her family, and her many and varied pets, crocheting, raising house plants and the Packers. She could swim like a fish and baked delicious apple pies. She was proud to be a sixth generation River Rat. 

 

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Truman; two sons, Todd Anderson, of Ferryville, and Barry (Connie Marie) Anderson, of Ferryville; as well as two grandchildren, Austin John Anderson and Riley Jo Anderson, both of Ferryville. She is also survived by her brother, Fred (Mary) Caya, of Kenosha, as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Theron Anderson; and three brothers Terry, Lawrence “Gus” and James Caya. Blessed be her name. 

 

Memorials Services were held on Tuesday, May 1, at 11 a.m., at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua, with Pastor Nile Sandeen officiating. Family and friends called from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.thorsonfuneralhome.com. The Thorson Funeral Home of Viroqua proudly served the family.
