Timothy D. Ray, 58, of Seneca, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 1. 

He was born Sept. 20, 1959, the son of Willard and Betty (Stuckey) Ray and Francis Duha “Pa.” He married his high school sweetheart, Dawn Olson on Aug. 26, 1978, at the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien. A loving husband, father, “PaPa,” brother, uncle and friend and so much more to so many people. He took pride in his work ethic, family, farm and community. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Through his high school summers, he farmed with Oliger “Og” Grimsled. After graduating Tim farmed and worked at Johnson’s One Stop, Zabel Equipment, Town of Seneca and was a highway patrolman for the Crawford County Highway Dept. He was a longtime member of the Seneca Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Seneca Town Board where he served as chairman. 

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dawn, of Seneca; his children, Travis (Casey), of Oregon, Shelly (David) Davidson, of Seneca, and Dustin (Amanda), of La Crosse; his siblings, Willard (Judy), of Boscobel, Judy (Mike) Hurda, of Seneca, Connie (Jerry) Fenton, of Prairie du Chien, Linda (John) McCullick, of Mt. Sterling, twin brother Tom (Ellie), of Steuben, and David (Patty), of Boscobel; his mother-in-law Dorothy Olson, of Seneca; his grandchildren, Brooklyn and Trevor Ray, Dawson, Addison and Easton Davidson; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard, Betty Ray Duha and Francis Duha “Pa;” a granddaughter Morgan Davidson; and his father-in-law Donald Olson.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien with Pastor Barb Cook officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date. Friends may call on Thursday, July 5, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien and at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred that will be donated to some of Tim’s favorite organizations.
