Betty Eileen Kremer, 87, of Strawberry Point, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood.

Visitation was Sunday, July 8, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Monday, July 9, at Trinity United Methodist Church, in Edgewood, conducted by Pastor Mike Jackson.

Interment was Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood.

Betty was born on Aug. 20, 1930, in Dubuque, the daughter of Phillip and Gertrude (Smock) Ingles. Betty was raised and educated in the area and attended rural schools.

On Dec. 10, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Bert Jones. Three children were born to this union. The couple farmed together until Bert passed away on May 30, 1981. Betty was married to Lorus Kremer on Nov. 25, 1996. He passed away on July 19, 1998.

Betty enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a good cook and excellent pie maker. She also made wonderful homemade noodles. Betty loved to dance, enjoyed country music and watching R.F.D. T.V., and liked tending her flower beds. She enjoyed traveling to Nashville and Branson. Betty will be forever in our hearts. 

Survivors include her three children, Virginia “Ginny” Scheffert of Garber, Rose (Eugene) Schaffer of Greeley, and Rocky (Jayne) Jones of Strawberry Point; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three step-grandchildren, Bryce Jensen, Paige Jensen, and Olivia Schaffer.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands, Bert Jones in 1981, Lyle West in 1988, and Lorus Kremer in 1998; four sisters; three brothers; and a son-in-law, Leland Scheffert.
