Accident in town of Seneca causes injuries
On July 28, at 8:14 p.m., the Crawford County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a one-vehicle traffic crash with injuries on Stoney Point Road near Lovers Lane in the township of Seneca.
Courtney M. Pilger, 19, Onalaska, was operating a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville westbound on Stoney Point Road. While attempting to negotiate a curve, Pilger lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the embankment along the left side of the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn. The Pilger vehicle came to rest on its top in the eastbound lane of the roadway. Pilger and her passenger, Halley M. Fritz, 20, Tomah, were able to exit the vehicle and call 911.
Pilger and Fritz were injured in the crash and were transported to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. They were both wearing their seatbelts. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was removed from the scene by Scott’s Towing. Pilger was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
Assisting on scene were the Gays Mills Fire Department, Ocooch Mountain Rescue, Ferryville First Responders, North Crawford Rescue, Seneca Fire Department and Scott’s Towing.
