The Northeast Iowa Farm Antique Association's 37th annual Plagman Barn Show Days will be held Sept 14, 15, and 16.

The Association is dedicated to the historical preservation, as well as the education of area youth, of the area's farm and home practices and techniques.

Steam-powered engines, single-cylinder engines, and horse-powered equipment highlight the three-day fall show. Demonstrations are held daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visit exhibits of threshing oats, chopping silage, baling straw, cutting wood from logs, a working grist mill, blacksmith shop, printing press, sorghum press, log cabin, schoolhouse, saloon, and other activities.

This year's featured tractor is the Massey-Harris. There will be a raffle for a Massey-Harris tractor, as well as for a handmade quilt, toy tractor and a John Deere pedal tractor.

There are numerous antique and vintage pieces of machinery, household appliances and memorabilia for viewing. There will be music and dancing, food stands and a shuttle service. A new country store and large flea market will be open.

The live music schedule features Dave Poggenklass from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday; Keepin' It Country from 12:30-4 p.m. on Saturday and the Sounds of Nashville from 12:30-4 p.m. on Sunday.

In Saturday, a kiddie tractor pull will be held at 10 a.m. and a horse pull at 1 p.m. On Sunday, a worship service is planned for 9 a.m. and an antique tractor pull at 10 a.m.

Food will be served daily, including breakfast on Saturday and Sunday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. Hamburgers and fries will be available in Caroline's Kitchen, and stop by the white barn for sandwiches, soups and desserts. The famous chicken dinner will be served on Sunday starting at 11 a.m.

To host such a large event takes many hands. Organizers appreciate the many volunteers and their hard work.

Show Days are held at 28384 Garber Road (C7X), Garber, 10 miles west of Guttenberg or two miles east of Garber.
