Pecatonica-Argyle defeats River Ridge
Pecatonica-Argyle defeated host River Ridge 20-6 on the Timberwolves’ homecoming Friday night.
The game was played on a wet and slippery field and didn’t start until about 8:30 p.m. due to lightning.
Cole Crubel got the Timberwolves on the board first as he got to the outside and broke free for a 45-yard touchdown dash down the left sideline in the first quarter. The extra point was blocked but River Ridge had a 6-0 lead.
PA scored on a 3-yard pass and the PAT was good as PA took a 7-6 lead after one period.
The Vikings scored again on a 30-yard TD run in the second quarter and they made the extra point to increase the margin to 14-6 at the half.
Neither team scored in the third period.
PA had one last score on a 34-yard pass in the fourth quarter to make the final, 20-6.
Cole Crubel was 4 of 12 passing for River Ridge for 27 yards. Brett Moravits was 1 of 1 for 17 yards. Moravits had 4 carries for 12 yards rushing. Cole Crubel rushed 10 times for 33 yards and a TD. Blake Crubel had 10 carries for 25 yards. Moravits caught 2 passes for 22 yards. Colton Clark had 1 reception for 8 yards.
Owen Hamilton had 11 total tackles for the River Ridge defense, as did Kaine Baus.
River Ridge will next host Benton-Scales Mound on Oct. 12.
