The Satter Building will be part of the Nov. 10 auction for properties that have been foreclosed upon.

Crawford County will be selling the Satter Building property at an auction on Nov. 10 beginning at 10 a.m. at Kramer Real Estate and Auction of Prairie du Chien.

As of press time, there were  13 other properties listed that will also be up for sale at the auction. The number of properties may change slightly by Nov. 10.

The County Delinquent Tax Committee had considered selling the Satter Building property as two separate properties, the large Satter Building and the small building in the back. The committee has now decided, however, to sell it as one entity.

County Treasurer Deanne Lutz said Kramer Real Estate and Auction will be showing the Satter Building property and all other properties up for auction, and any interested persons should contact them. Kramer Real Estate and Auction is at 203 E. Blackhawk Ave. The phone number is (608) 326-8108. The email address is kramer@mhtc.net.

The Satter Building is at 111 W. Dunn St., Prairie du Chien. It is on 2.88 acres. The Satter Building property was foreclosed upon on Aug. 2 and the county regained ownership because back taxes, interest and penalties totaling $63,061.77 has not been paid. Back taxes had been owed since 2012.

The new owners of any property purchased at the auction would not be responsible for any back taxes, interest or penalties, said Lutz.

The Satter Building has sat vacant since the county sold it to Prairie River Investments of Madison for $350,000 in 2006.
