A 54-year-old Prairie du Chien man has been charged in Crawford County Circuit Court with one count of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth offense).
Daniel Carroll faces up to a $25,000 fine and 10 years in prison if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint, a Prairie du Chien police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that then accelerated rapidly across an intersection, causing the tires to squeal. The officer caught up to the vehicle which had parked in a driveway. Carroll was subsequently arrested for suspected OWI.
Carroll has previously been convicted of OWI four times.
